At least 72 schools, madrasas and vocational institutes across the country could not achieve any success in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. No student was passed from the institutions.

Of those institutes, 27 are under Bangladesh Madrasa Board, 23 under Bangladesh Technical Education Board and the rest 21 under eight secondary and higher secondary education boards.

However, number of such institutions this year has dropped to 72 from 91 compared to the last year’s performances.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Nurul Islam Naheed told a press briefing at his ministry that stern action must be taken against those institutions, which failed to achieve minimum result.

He said a committee would be formed soon to investigate into the affairs of the institutions and necessary measures would be taken as per its report.
